IATA International Travel & Tourism Courses

The school focuses mainly on three programmes of study, namely IATA Foundation  Course, Consultant Course and Managing Travel Business Course. All three programmes are administered by IATA Aviation Training and Development Institute (ATDI), Montreal, Canada. The Courses lead to Diploma examinations, which are held in March, June, September and December every year. In India the examinations are supervised  by Air India, the national air carrier. Examination centres in Kerala are located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.

Minimum qualification : Degree / +2

Course duration : 6 months (approximately)

Class timings : 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. ( Monday to Friday)

Weekend classes for college going students.

  1. IATA Foundation Course with Electronic Booking System; Galileo / Amadeus / Sabre / Abacus

    (Duration: 6 Months )

    The course  provides an overview of the aviation, air travel and tourism industry, the role that qualified  travel professionals play and also of the developing technologies in the travel industry. The school also provides practical training in Electronic Booking System.

  2. IATA Consultant Course

    (Duration: 6 months)

    This course enables you to understand the more complex operations of the travel and tourism industry, and helps you to adopt a consultative approach  to selling travel and tourism products. It equips you to handle all major aspects of the travel agency business. It gives you the ability to give accurate advice to customers on major tourist destinations, create customised itineraries, construct complex fares and routings, and apply advanced IATA  fare construction principles. It also provides you with sound knowledge of the Billing and Settlement System (BSP).

    IATA Travel and Tourism Consultant Course is the second of the three diploma levels. By succesfully completing this course, you will be qualified with the Travel and  Tourism Consultant Diploma and entitles you to use DTTC after your name.

    Usually, the consultant course is done after completing the foundation course. However, it can also be done directly. After successfully completing the Consultant Course you have the option to enroll in the Harvard  Manage Mentor Programme to further acquire leadership and management skills.

  3. IATA Managing Travel Business Course 

    (Duration: 6 months)

    This  course is ideally suited for entry level and mid level managers in the travel industry, agency business owners, and agency back office staff members. It teaches seven essential skills to successfully  manage a travel business. It is intended to give you the skills for supervising and managing teams, motivating employees, managing back office operations, improving negotiation skills, making sound business decissions, and gaining a competitive edge by introducing new products and marketing strategies.

IATA exams are conducted four times a year, in March / June/September/December.
